About K-KRON II
K-Kron II resists ultraviolet deterioration, chalking, and chemical attack, as well as damage from salt, wind, sleet and snow. It has a 10-year film integrity warranty, which is extended directly to the homeowner.
K-Kron II system involves three steps:
- Exterior wood pieces are immersed in a treatment that protects against water, insects and fungus.
- A high performance, urethane primer is applied to seal the wood and provide a tough bonding surface.
- A topcoat finish is applied using an airless, control-spray system that ensures complete, consistent coverage.
If K-Kron II is not requested, latex primer is available on the exterior to prepare for finishing on the job site.

Finish colors may vary from on-screen images. Please make selections using actual color samples available from your local Kolbe dealer.

Double Clear Coat
About Wood Stain
Kolbe products can be finished on the interior with a water-based, low-VOC stain. After staining, a clear coat is applied, the surface is sanded, and a second clear coat is applied. Custom colors may be requested as well.
Notes
The stain colors above are shown on Pine.

Bull Nose Casing
About Wood Casing
Casing helps define the architectural design of a structure. It frames the curbside view of windows and doors, and often evokes a period style. Heritage Series wood casing is flexible in terms of aesthetic possibilities. It is usually finished the same color as the window unit, but can be a contrasting color for visual impact.
Notes
Limitations apply when combining trim options; i.e., not all brickmould profiles can be combined with all sill nosing profiles, and not all profiles are available for radius units.
Custom trim profiles may be available upon request. Please consult your local Kolbe dealer for more information.

BetterVue Insect Screen Mesh
About Screen Mesh
Various types of screen mesh are available to keep insects from entering open windows and doors. Most Kolbe windows and doors have BetterVue® fiberglass mesh, which is less visible than many screens in the industry. Plus, the tighter weave keeps smaller bugs out, is flame retardant, and doesn't stain, crease or dent.
For even better visibility, request UltraVue® mesh. Both BetterVue and UltraVue are GreenGuard®-certified, meaning that they meet strict chemical emissions limits for healthier interiors. Plus, they have the added value of Water Shed Technology™, which is an advanced water repellent coating that allows screens to repel water and debris. It increases the life expectancy of the screens by keeping them cleaner longer. Water beads up and rolls off, to preserve viewing clarity, rain or shine. As you can see, the view remains much more visible when screens have Water Shed Technology applied (left side of Water Shed photo), as opposed to those without it (right side of Water Shed photo).
Aluminum screen mesh is available for areas with fiberglass screen-eating insects.
Notes
Limitations may apply. Please consult your local Kolbe dealer for more details.
